WEEK 3: THE IMPORTANCE OF STORYTELLING.

      Storytelling has been a very popular way of sharing stories for many cultures and families. Storytelling is very appealing for it is more conversational, therefore it is more pleasing to the ear. It tends to have topics to which we can relate or identify with. culture, costumes, family stories can be passed down from generation to generation through storytelling.      Storytelling can be very powerful in education settings.It is a beautiful from of telling stories to students because it lets the teller and the listener connect at a higher level of intimacy. In the most traditional form of storytelling no books or special props are needed but pure imagination.  students are able to use their imagination and thinking skills at the same time. Storytelling can also help strengthen the social aspect on a child, because children learn to listen and to express themselves by participating in storytelling.      I enjoyed the digital storie...

Week 2:Using Technology As A Communication Tool Between The Classroom And Home

       Communication between parents and teachers is crucial for successful learning. I strongly believe that a child's education is positively impacted when teachers and parents work as a team. When parents and teachers work in collaboration and establishing a communication bound ,learning challenges can better be addressed.As I reviewed the different programs under resources for week 2, I came across many wonderful programs that can be of great usage for classrooms. I would like to focus on those specific programs that serve as an aid for a stronger communication between the classroom and the home of the student. Two of the programs that I would love to point out are "ClassDojo" and "See Saw". These two programs serve as an aid to maintain frequent communication and parental involvement. Making usage of this apps or programs can amplify what teachers share with parents. Teachers can share pictures, videos or text messages about any projects, class activities,...

Why I Want To Become A Teacher?

Since I was a little girl, I loved to play school with my siblings and cousins. During my high school years I decided to become a teacher.I enrolled Roosevelt University. At the age of nineteen I decided to get marry and started my family. I was not able to fulfill my goal due to different life circumstances. The years passed and I was raising my kids, but my goal was still not fulfill. My mother knew I wanted to become a teacher. My mother constantly encouraged me to go back to school. I also had a my personal desire to become a teacher because I love working with children and experience their development.
