WEEK 5 : GOOGLE CLASSROOM IMPLEMENTATION

Google classroom has been impressing to me. Creating an account is easy and the format is simple and easy to understand. I have to admit that, I was very skeptical at first. As a mother of five, I have issues with technology usage. I rather have my children read a book or do any activity that does not involve an electronic device. My children have limited usage time of technology at home. I tend to be close minded to technology at times. I had mentioned in one of my previous blogs, how I had limited myself to only Facebook as my social media. I believe the less technology the better. I admitted in a previous post that I found Twitter to be an awesome tool for educators. I have to accept that I was wrong when it came to my perspective on social media in general. Social media can be a powerful tool when it is used in a professional and proper manner. Just like Twitter I find Google Classroom to be a powerful tool in the classroom.

I enjoyed greatly going through the week 5 resources. I encountered important and useful materials. I like how in the resources, we were first presented on a "how to create a google classroom sites" in a written format. It does a good job walking a teacher through in the basics of creating an account. The resource that impacted me the most was "EdPuzzle". I fell in love with EdPuzzle is just amazing. The tutorial video was just perfect ,very well explained. After watching the video, I felt like I was ready to create my very own. A feature that I most loved was how EdPuzzle links to google classroom. I am amazed with both google classroom and EdPuzzle, they make the perfect pair.

I have to add that google classroom will be more than helpful when either the students or a teacher is absent.
